Okay, real talk—surrendering to God is not easy. Like… at all.
But it is so important if we want to truly, fully trust Him. Let’s be honest, as humans, we love being in control—of plans, outcomes, timing, everything, all the time. But surrender doesn’t mean we’re walking away from our lives or just giving up—it means we are learning that we don’t actually have to carry everything ourselves. It means we’re learning to trust Him with everything in our lives.
Aligning Your Ways to God’s
Surrender is really about alignment, not loss. We’re not losing our will—we’re lining it up with God’s. Through prayer and spending time in His Word, we slowly start adjusting our thoughts, our actions, and even our desires to match His. And honestly, that’s when it starts to feel like we’re actually walking with God, not just believing in Him. That’s when trust becomes real.
Surrender to God is NOT Easy

“Not my will, but Yours.” Whew. Easier said than done, right?
Even Jesus struggled with Surrender. However, through His words we learn that surrender can be painful and, yet still faithful as well.
Matthew 26:39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” NKJV
I’m not going to lie – Surrender can feel super uncomfortable. It rarely follows the timeline we had all mapped out for ourselves. Plus, it doesn’t always give us answers right away (or at all). We kind of have to admit—humbly—that we don’t have all the answers… and that it’s okay that we don’t. Heck, sometimes we don’t even have all the questions yet. We’re seeing one tiny piece, while God sees the whole big picture.
And yes—it’s scary. Like, really scary. But that’s where faith comes in, allowing us to trust that God knows what He’s doing, even when His plan looks wildly different from ours.
Surrender is Not Loss
At first, surrender can even feel like loss—losing control, losing certainty, losing the plans we thought our life would follow.
But once we truly let go? Peace and acceptance start to replace the fear, and God begins shaping those plans into something even better than we could’ve ever imagined. That’s when trust really takes root.
Now, surrendering doesn’t mean life suddenly becomes perfect. That’s one of the hardest truths about trusting God—there will still be hard seasons. Pain, uncertainty, grief… they still happen. But the difference is this: we never face them alone. God is right there with us, especially in the hardest moments. And honestly? It’s often those hardest moments that strengthen our trust and faith the most. God uses those moments, if we just let Him.
God is Always With Us

With God, we are never alone. Ever. 🤍
So when things are hard and don’t make sense, remember that bigger picture God sees. We may never fully understand the why, how, or when—but He does. And He’s always in control, even when it doesn’t feel like it to us. We just have to surrender and fully trust Him.

P.S. You’ve got this—and more importantly, He’s got you. 💕
