There’s something about Holy Week that feels different… isn’t there?
It’s not just another week on the calendar.
And, though I know it is cliche, it is not about the little fluffy bunny either.
It’s slower. Heavier. More intentional.
The Price
It’s the week we remember not just what Jesus did… but also how what He did that week shows the unimaginable depth of His love for us. He entered that week knowing how the week ended, what laid ahead for Him.
Yet, he went into that week willingly.
Jesus went into that week knowing that He would die on that cross for all of our sins … not His sins, for He had none. He did it all for us.

He also knew that He would ultimately defeat death and return to His home in Heaven, but He died so that we could also someday join Him in that heavenly home for all of eternity.
He paid the ultimate price for us so that we don’t have to … we only have to believe and trust in Him.
The Full Week
Friend, if we are honest, all of what this week holds can sometimes feel a little overwhelming.
Hear me out here … it’s not just about the end day, Resurrection Sunday, the day so many of us grow up focusing on as kids. That day when we celebrate Easter and everyone is happy and joyous.
Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with us celebrating Easter Sunday with all the joy and reverence it so deserves. We just need to make sure that we take time to remember the whole week as well … remember what Jesus went through that week in order to save us from our sins.
There is so much that actually leads up to the joy of Resurrection Sunday, and it all happened in seven days. From palms waving to the cross to the empty tomb … from cheering crowds to silence to resurrection. It’s a lot to hold all at once.
So what if we didn’t try to rush through it?
What if we just… walked with Him? One day at a time.
Holy Week isn’t meant to be hurried.
It’s meant to be felt.
Holy Week … A Daily Breakdown
- On Palm Sunday, we welcome Him in
- On Monday, we let Him clear what doesn’t belong
- On Tuesday, we sit with His words
- On Wednesday, we wrestle with our hearts
- On Thursday, we remember His humility and love
- On Friday, we stand at the cross
- On Saturday… we wait
- And on Sunday, we rejoice—because hope is alive again
Each day holds something sacred.
Each day invites us closer.

Time to Reflect
Life doesn’t really slow down for Holy Week.
We still have responsibilities. Schedules. Noise.
And it’s easy to let this week pass by without really entering into it.
But friend… this week is an invitation.
Not to do more—
but to draw near.
To sit with Jesus in the moments that changed everything.
If you’re anything like me, it helps to have something that gently guides your heart each day…
A place to reflect.
To pray.
To slow down just enough to actually take it in.
That’s exactly why I created a simple Holy Week devotional—something soft and intentional to walk through each day without feeling like the full weight of the week is too overwhelming.

Each day gives you scripture to focus on and a short devotion that is designed to feel like you and I are sitting right there together with a warm cup of coffee as we reflect on God’s Word and encourage one another to allow Him to speak to us through the events of that week.
You don’t have to do this perfectly.
You don’t have to have all the right words.
Just come as you are.
Open your heart.
Take it one day at a time.
And let Him meet you there.
Because He will. 🤍
